Description

An attempt at fixing:

There were several problems on the first one:

1. Perspective. I tried to correct the ring, but you'll notice it's still very awkward. I'm honestly perplexed on this one, and the more I keep trying to fix it, the worse it gets honestly. XD;

2. Star variation, there was little to none on the first one. In this one, I tried to brighten the stars, as well as create several larger ones, and groups. I do hope it's not horribly chaotic, I'm always really light-handed when it comes to placing stars, so I'm not sure if this is too much now.

3. Empty space. I tried to create a colorful nebula to help get rid of the dark space. I again, hope it is not too obnoxious.

4. I also made the planet bigger. Maybe it was better smaller, I don't know anymore. XDDD;;

I'm sure with practice I'll get the hang of ring planets more. Hopefully I can create more space work soon. :la:

EDIT : FINALLY solved the problem with star visibility, enjoy! :)

There are a few tutorials you can find online about making a realistic starscape, for the most part the thing throwing me off is how evenly spaced and bright and just how MANY stars there are. It just doesn't look like that and its incredibly distracting.
The second part is that there is no show of where the light source is for the planet. You have a planet there and light far in the background, which seems to be your light source, but that in turn makes your planet's lighting make no sense.
I would burn it a little to throw the light/shadows into the right direction and ease up on the stars.

I've only done a couple starscapes in my backgrounds before but I feel like this tutorial will help you improve.

Other then that, your work is really cool. Its eye-catching and beautiful. And even I would love to have it on my ceiling if my boyfriend wasn't already agelessly half-way through another star/earth mural on the wall.
